One of the many benefits of being a self-employed goddess is being able to make choices and change direction in an instant. Handy then that I run my own business and call the shots.
I will share why, with a warning that this might not be for the squeamish…
During my daughter’s previous pregnancies she suffered with Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction – SPD. This a very painful debilitating condition. Basically the pubic bones rub together and clunk, sometimes loud enough to be heard. She also has a bicornuate uterus, which is the medical term for the much nicer name - heart-shaped womb. Because of this combination she has to have Caesarean sections when her babies are due.

When she was pregnant last time with her 3rd baby, the GP sent her to a physiotherapist who decided it was all on account of imbalance or some other nonsense.
The physio, in her wisdom, no, ignorance; during what seemed like a routine examination, yanked Charlie’s leg to restore everything to normal. Except it didn’t. Of course it didn’t. There was no discussion of previous pregnancies, no warning and absolutely no respite.
This, so called trained professional behaved like a clueless amateur. What happened was that, after the pregnancy Charlie continued to have problems and pain and because of the damage and weakness caused by one person's stupidity went on to suffer again. When Jesse was 6 months old she was putting him into his walker when she prolapsed a couple of discs in her back.
Now a new baby is on the way, she is a lot of pain and crocked for much of the time, often getting stuck when everything locks.
So, back to how this affects me… well, I’m her mummy! If you have read my books (!?!) you will know that I was disabled for many years during my recovery following a back injury and while having operations. Therefore, I know how horrible it is to need help and how hard it can be to ask. Her husband, Joel is in the RAF so can’t be available when he is on duty.
I am very sad for my baby girl that she is hurting but flattered that I am the one to help and happy that I can. Also Mick and I are delighted to have the opportunity to spend time with the little boys. He is number 1 school run person, among other things.
My wonderful lifestyle means that I am able to continue with most of my work while helping Charlie to take care of herself and her little boys. I can write and my writing with magic and your magical life sessions* will still be on offer. I can also do all my workshops and retreat holidays because for those times, I delegate! Ha, I had a Miranda Priestly in Devil Wears Prada moment!
If you get in touch with me there might be a little delay in my reply but you will get one. Thank you for your patience in this matter...
